Webster's defines perfection as "an exemplification of supreme excellence". I define it as "Wenger's"! When you walk into this establishment, you feel as if you are a regular on the classic show Cheers. The bartenders are always friendly and greet you as you enter this Preble County oasis. The regulars treat you as one of your own. The chef meticulously prepares each order as if they were serving the President of the U.S.A. The food is second to only the stiff but perfectly constructed cocktails and the coldest bottled beer this side of the Mississippi. I wish Bidencomics weren't hurting my budget so I could drop by more often, but nonetheless, this place is what dreams are made of.
Don’t be dissuaded by the outward appearance the food is great. Wengers is the epitome of a friendly “hometown” style bar with great eats. Wings were XL meaty and crispy, sweet potato fries and regular fries were excellent, BLT was perfect, cheeseburger was excellent. Staff was friendly and courteous. All and all a great experience.
I was very pleased with the food and service. I feel it's the best food and service probably within 20 miles of my house near Greenville, Oh. The server had such a great attitude! Chicken is great. It is a bar, so expect loud noises. I did not care for the tea, but I look forward to going back soon.
Perfectly prepared Jamaican Jerk chicken chunks, attractive barmaid, and cold beer. What else could you want?
Slow service. Ordered a tenderloin w/house made potato chips and a bacon burger. Chips weren't crispy and the bacon was limp. It took approximately 30 minutes to get the food. Yes they were busy on the bar side, not on the dinner side. But the cook needs to learn how to cook and pick up the pace. On the other hand, they make really good pizza and wings.
This place has had so many name changes over the years but this one has been here awhile. Decent food for bar. Decent atmosphere for a small town.
So Wengers food itself seemed good! We ordered chicken bites, two different flavors and fries and they were good! Even the cook came out and talked to us to make sure the food was good. But the waitress/bartender wasnt very good! My husband only drank coke, and after going to refill his drink she finally came back and said sorry forgot to bring your coke back after 10-15 minutes and it was way watered down, in which everyone at the table needed refills on their drinks, and finally as the food came out she asked if we needed drinks. She wasnt very attentive, seemed to hover at the bar like she was flirting for her tips there. But as we became the only people left in the bar, she then attended to our drinks. Like I said food was good, but the waitress tonight, not so good!
